It is also known as Purnululu national park.
The name Purnululu is coming from sandstone areas of the Bungle Bungle range by the Kija aboriginial people. It means sandstone. The range is almost 578 metres high from sea level. It is popular for the sandstone domes, unusual and visually striking with their striping in alternating orange and grey bands. The banding of the domes occurs due to differences in clay content and also for porosity of the sandstone layers.
Punululu was discovered by modern people at mid 1980s, although aboroginial peoples live for generations there. It was announced as a national park at 1987. Geologists say that, during the Devonian Era, almost 350 million years ago, a great marine deposit was formed here. It eroded away by the hundreds of millions of wet seasons to the present structure of domes, cliffs and gorges. Rather fragile, the orange bands on the rocks are of silica. But the black bands are covered with fungus, overlaying the white sandstone core. There are some unique plants grow here, like a species of Livingstonia palm.
If you want to experience the Bungle Bungles properly you have to walk and you will get four wheel drives. You can enjoy the beauties of boab or baobabs, the weird bottle trees which are found typically in this area and of southern Africa and Madagascar. A long walk through this beautiful landscape with its sandstone domes is amazing. There are breathtaking paths like Cathedral Gorge and Piccaninny Gorge over all you have to walk for almost 30 kms to enjoy all the beauties of Bungle Bungle. Echidna Chasm is one of the most mysterious places of Australia. If you want to enjoy you should walk.

Rainbow Beach: Another impressive travel destination in Australia

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 218px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GJLWTlhTptY/SlL3EoTVHnI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/L8sXy6by2hw/s320/100174.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355614565806972530" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GJLWTlhTptY/SlL3EYlxZWI/AAAAAAAAAJs/urHxBJrAMC0/s320/2185236480033174829S425x425Q85.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355614561589355874" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GJLWTlhTptY/SlL3EExUbfI/AAAAAAAAAJk/2eYQmmz2DGs/s320/tbb-rainbow01-783777.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355614556269080050" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 277px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GJLWTlhTptY/SlL3DzNPCxI/AAAAAAAAAJc/Wy5EizuPnE4/s320/rose-david-rainbow-beach.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355614551554329362" />
Another impressive travel destination in Australia, is Rainbow beach. The name of the town is obtained from the rainbow-coloured sand dunes surrounding the settlement. But there is a myth believed by Kabi people, dunes were coloured when Yiningie, a spirit represented by a rainbow, plunged into the cliffs after doing battle with an evil tribesman.

Rainbow Beach is a coastal town in south-eastern Queensland. By road, Rainbow Beach is located 75 km from the Bruce Highway town of Gympie, and 239 km from the Queensland state capital, Brisbane.

Much of the sand of this beach colors stem from the rich content of minerals in the sand, including rutile, ilmenite, zircon and monazite. A black dune of ilmenite sands, overgrown by dune vegetation can be found north west of the main town and offers a secret place of beauty for the nature enthusiast. This is currently being removed for sale in China with complete removal expected to take two years.

The beach is long with its open sea. It is on the coast north of Cairns in tropical far north of Australia. It’s total area almost 1200 square kilometers from the Daintree River north to Cooktown and west to the Great Divide, representing the single largest block of tropical rainforest in Australia.
The Daintree is the largest continuous area of rainforest on the Australian mainland. It was named by Richard Daintree. Daintree National Park protects a major part of the forest. The Daintree Rainforest contains 30% of frog, marsupial and reptile species in Australia, and 65% of Australia's bat and butterfly species. 20% of bird species in the country can be found in this area. All of this diversity is contained within an area that takes up 0.2% of the landmass of Australia.
Daintry rainforest’s ecosystem known as the most complex ecosystem of the world. Its plant diversity and structural complexity is unrivalled on the Australian continent and represents the origins of our more familiar 'Australian' flora.
The Daintree Rainforest's addition to the World Heritage List in 1988 in recognition of its universal natural values highlighted the rainforest.
The Daintree is an outstanding example of the major stages in the earth's evolutionary history, an example of significant ongoing ecological and biological processes, and an example of superlative natural phenomena. It contains important and significant habitats for conservation of biological diversity. Barrington Tops presents the hiker with hundreds of kilometers of trails to explore, and enables the visitor to view some of the rarest Australian wildlife in its natural habitat. Mountain biking is also a popular activity in Barrington Tops with many pre-designated bike trails to follow. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia.

The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps.

You can go castaway on many of Great Barrier Reef’s lush island national parks. There’s Green and Fitzroy islands near Cairns, and Dunk, Bedarra, Hinchinbrook and Orpheus islands further south. Head to Hayman, Heron and Lizard Islands for superior resorts and diving.

U can experience the marine life through a glass-bottomed boat from coastal hubs such as Cairns, Port Douglas, Townsville, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Mackay, Mission Beach and Proserpine. Its proximity to Asia makes it an important Australian gateway to countries such as Indonesia and East Timor. The Stuart Highway begins in Darwin, ending at Port Augusta in South Australia.The city itself is built on a low bluff overlooking the harbour. Its suburbs spread out over some area, beginning at Lee Point in the north and stretching to Berrimah in the east – past Berrimah, the Stuart Highway goes on to Darwin's satellite city, Palmerston, and its suburbs.The region, like the rest of the Top End, has a tropical climate, with a wet season and a dry season. It receives heavy rainfall during the Wet, and is well-known for its spectacular lightning.

Getting around Darwin - some options:

• Walk. Good for the heart! The beuties all around here. Many tourists comes here to enjoy the beauty of nature. Every tourist travels here to enjoy the differnce.

One of the states is the island state Tasmania of which one fifth is World Heritage area. Each state has its own national parks with their specific character where you can indulge in bush-walking or maybe even rock-climbing. When you’re interested in the miracles of water-world, you can’t miss out on the Great Barrier Reef on the east coast, the main reason for many travellers to visit Cairns. The Wet Tropics of Queensland comprise dense rainforests and foaming waterfalls. Rare species of animals can be spotted in the famous Kakadu National Park as well as ancient aboriginal art. These old drawings can also be seen in the Namadgi National Park. These may signify your travel.

Good places to set off for exploration of the great outdoors are big cities such as Canberra, Darwin, Adelaide and Perth, that all have interesting sights and a good cultural atmosphere as well. Of course, Australia is surrounded by sea, so good swimming and surfing beaches are more rule than exception, generally these beaches will be full of only tourists, especially during the week. So fun can be had watching people who haven't heard of sunscreen yet turning into lobsters, or getting trapped in the surf. North of Brisbane, is the Sunshine Coast one of the many stretches of coast where you can find excellent beaches, South of Brisbane is the better known Gold Coast, famous for being home to Australias equivalent of trailer park people and teenagers who can't afford a holiday somewhere better. Don’t forget the smaller historically interesting Alice Springs, or William Creek [the most isolated town in Australia] that will lead you right to the famous Ayers Rock.

Deserts, rainforests, big cities….and just when you thought you’d caught a glimpse of the versatile character of this fascinating continent, you forgotten about Melbourne and the excellent skiing opportunities in the Alpine National Park. Another good option is the Snowy Mountains area in NSW. How many months could you stay?

Links

delhi tour packages | tour travel company | spain villas | ercan north cyprus | top 10 vacation spots

Australia travel guide with online booking enquiries for accommodation, attractions, tours, hire cars, restaurants, flights and maps.
